I signed up for the beta....now what?
Firstly, thank you! The Clever Sherpa beta is your opportunity to test out the site and get at the head of the line when we have offers for you. We hope that you give us lots of feedback so that we can build the community that is most beneficial for everyone. With your help we will hit our goal of 1000 registered Sherpas and soon you will receive exclusive offers from great companies!

What is Clever Sherpa and why was it established?
Clever Sherpa is a free opt-in community made up of thousands of individuals who enjoy great deals on products and services they want and need. We established the community because we believe consumers should be in control of the advertising they receive, compensated for their time and attention, and only offered products or services they want.
Why the name Clever Sherpa?
We call our members Sherpas. We are inspired by real world Sherpas, who live in the Himalayas, and are employed as expert guides on expeditions, such as climbing Mount Everest. Although Sherpas individually have great skill and ability, they realize the only way to successfully scale the mountain is to work as a team.
Who can join the community?
Currently, the community is open for anyone 18 years of age or older who lives in the United States. In the future we have plans to extend our service internationally.
What does it cost to join?
The service is absolutely 100% free.
How do I join?
It’s easy. Simply fill out the registration information, which should take no more than one minute.
If I join, will I be spammed?
No, absolutely not. Everything with our service is completely permission based and opt-in. Our marketing partners have no direct access to any of your personal information, including your email address. All contact will come solely through us. In addition, we do not allow any advertising on our site so you will never be bothered with annoying banner ads, pop-ups, and fly-by’s, etc. You will never be spammed. At most we may send out an email or two a month.
When I register why am I required to share personal information?
There are a couple of reasons. First and foremost, we do not want to waste your time with offers that are not relevant to you. In other words, if you don’t fly on planes we don’t want to offer a deal for a trip to Paris. So, in order for us to match offers to you effectively, we need to know who you are, what your interests are, etc. Secondly, we are compensating you for your time. In order to properly compensate you, we need your contact information.
Is the information I share secure?
Yes, all information you provide is secure with the industry standard SSL encryption. You can be assured your information is safe and protected.
Do I have control over the personal information in my profile?
Absolutely, you are in complete control. Our Sherpas can modify their profile information at any time through the Clever Sherpa website. In addition, you can delete yourself completely from the system and all your profile information will be removed as well.
Will this personal information be shared with anyone?
Your personal information is completely private. We will absolutely not share any of your personal data with anyone, unless you have provided your direct approval. The only exception would be a requirement of law.
What kinds of products and services will be offered?
You name it. Food/beverage, clothing & apparel, financial products, mortgages, car loans, insurance, brokerage services, automobiles, travel, vacations, hotels, communication services, consumer electronics, media, healthcare, etc. In addition, you will have a voice within the community so let us know what you want.
How do I get the great deals on products and services I want?
After you sign up for the service, you will begin receiving “offer invitations” through email. “Offer invitations” are simply an invitation to review an offer for a product or service. If you accept the “offer invitation” you will be taken to the “offer page” where the offer will be presented to you via video explaining the offer. If you want to accept the offer, you will click on the “offer link” where you can purchase the product or service being offered.
What if I am not interested in the offer?
If the offer is not for you, you simply decline the “offer invitation” by clicking “no thanks” and wait for the next offer to come your way.
How is this service different from other offers I get through email or online ads?
First of all, you are in complete control. You only receive offers because you have joined the community. Secondly, each individual “offer invitation” is also opt-in/opt-out. In other words, there is no obligation to participate, it’s your choice. Third, the offers are tailored to you. Because you have shared some information about yourself, we are able to effectively target relevant offers to you. Lastly, because we value your time and attention, we compensate you for watching and considering to the offer.
Tell me more about how this compensation works.
For every “offer invitation” you choose to participate in, we will compensate you for your time and attention. Your account will be credited the offer fee for each “offer invitation” and completed engagement. Additionally, you may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of cash, gift certificates, or coupons for sharing the offer with your friends. When completing the offer if you think a friend might be interested you can share it with him or her - and if they purchase something you will be compensated.
So, I don’t actually have to buy something to be compensated for my time?
Yes, that’s true. No purchase is required. All that is required is that you watch & consider the offer and answer a few questions. The entire process should take no more than five (5) minutes. Again, we believe your time and attention is valuable and thus want to compensate you commensurately for it.
How am I compensated? Cash? Gifts?
Each “offer invitation” has a specific “offer fee” amount. As you complete “offer invitations” your account is credited with the offer fee amounts. The offer fee amount is redeemed, dollar for dollar, at Amazon.com. For example, if you have completed three “offer invitations” over the course of a given month, and each “offer fee” was equal to $5, you have accrued $15 to spend on any of the millions of products that Amazon.com offers.
Are you considering other compensation methods other than Amazon.com?
Over time, we anticipate adding more compensation options. We will be listening closely to our Sherpas to understand what other options would be the most beneficial.
How does the Sherpa community get access to all these great offers?
We choose which marketing partners have access to our network and we also have final say over the “offer requests.” Our marketing partners must first convince us of the value of their offers before we approve the offer for our community members.
Why do marketing partners want to make offers through the Clever Sherpa network?
There are a number of reasons. First, our Sherpas understand that the more we know about them the better we can serve them by providing valuable and relevant offers. This allows our marketing partners to personalize their offers to a profile of people who actually want or need what they have to offer. This brings value to everyone. Secondly, our marketing partners learn from our Sherpas through the feedback mechanism. All smart companies want to know what their customers want, don’t want, and why. The attention and feedback our Sherpa community members provide is an invaluable resource. Our Sherpas want our marketing partners to provide products and services of value, and thus, naturally are inclined to provide honest feedback.
This is a great service. How do I get my friends and family involved?
Well, that’s easy. Through the Clever Sherpa website there is an easy way to send and track invitations to friends and family. In addition, as the Sherpa network grows we will be able to offer better deals to our members. Someone once said “there is strength in numbers” and that is true for our Sherpa community as well. So feel free to help the community and yourself by helping it grow.
