Introduction to Clever Sherpa Privacy Policy

We have created this Privacy Policy to demonstrate our commitment to protecting information you submit. This Privacy Policy only applies to data gathered on the CleverSherpa.com website (the "Site"), and does not apply to any other information or website. Please review this Privacy Policy periodically as we may update it from time to time. This Privacy Policy is effective as of June 15^th, 2008. Each time you visit the Site or provide us with information, you are, by doing so, accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy at that time. You agree that by using the Site you are expressly and affirmatively consenting to our use and disclosure of the information that you provide, and consenting to receive emails, as described below in this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information

We do not sell our members personal information to anyone for any reason.  In order to operate the Site in an efficient and effective manner CleverSherpa.com may collect personal information, including contact information (such as an email address, age, gender, etc.), from its community members. In addition, this information allows us to provide our members with private and secure areas to post and modify their original content on our site (e.g., profile data).  You agree that CleverSherpa.com may use your personal information to contact you and deliver information to you that, in some cases, is targeted to your interests (product offers such as automobiles, vacations, etc.), or provides administrative notices or communications applicable to your use of the Site. By accepting this Privacy Policy, you expressly agree to receive this information. If you do not wish to receive these communications, we encourage you to opt out of any further receipt by following the opt out process provided in each such communication.

Referrals

Community members have the option to provide the name and email address of friends for the purpose of inviting them to join the community. When you refer friends, the name and email address of the referred person (the “Referred”) may be retained in our database.  Use of our referral service to tell a friend about our site, or to participate in a referral chain, requires that you enter your friend’s name and email address. With your consent, we will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site to learn about the service.

Use of Personally Identifiable Information by Companies:

Companies who have partnered with CleverSherpa.com may choose to contact you via a message sent through the site. However, to ensure your privacy, CleverSherpa.com will not display or provide any of your personal identifiable contact information (e.g. name, email address, etc.) to those Companies.

Access to and Modification of Your Information

You may review, correct, update or change your Clever Sherpa account information at any time. From your Clever Sherpa account you may also opt out of receiving newsletters and certain other information from Clever Sherpa.

To change your Clever Sherpa account information, simply log into your Clever Sherpa account, go to your Account Profile, review your account information and, if you wish, make the appropriate changes.

Opt-Out/Correct/Delete/Deactivate

You may elect not to receive future communications from Clever Sherpa or to discontinue use of our service.  If you have previously made contact with any Companies, you must independently opt-out of communications from that individual Company.

Individuals who wish to deactivate their Clever Sherpa account may do so. Removed information may persist in backup or cached copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to any user of Clever Sherpa.

We may retain indefinitely all the information we gather about you in an effort to make your repeat use of Clever Sherpa more efficient, practical, and relevant. Of course, you can delete your resume from Clever Sherpa's online database or close your Clever Sherpa account at any time, in which event we will remove all our copies of your profile from Clever Sherpa.

Cookies

At CleverSherpa.com, we use cookies only for the protection and convenience of our users. Cookies enable us to serve secure pages to our users without asking them to sign in repeatedly.  You may have the ability to reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent; however, some CleverSherpa.com features or services may not function properly without cookies.

No Guarantee

CleverSherpa.com cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. Therefore, although we are committed to protecting your privacy, we do not promise, and you should not expect, that your personal information or private communications will always remain private. As a user of the Site, you understand and agree that you assume all responsibility and risk for your use of the Site, the Internet generally, and the documents you post or access and for your conduct on and off the Site.

 

Age

The CleverSherpa.com website is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18.

When We Disclose

We disclose information if legally required to do so, if requested to do so by a governmental entity or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (b) protect our rights or property or our affiliated companies; (c) prevent a crime or protect national security; or (d) protect the personal safety of users or the public.

We disclose and transfer information to a third party who acquires all or a substantial portion of our business, whether such acquisition is by way of merger, consolidation or purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets. In addition, in the event we become the subject of a bankruptcy proceeding, whether voluntary or involuntary, we or our trustee in bankruptcy, may sell, license or otherwise dispose of such information in a transaction approved by the bankruptcy court. You will be notified of sale of all or a substantial portion of our business to a third party via email or through a prominent notice posted on the CleverSherpa.com Site.

Changes to Privacy Policy

If we decide to materially change our Privacy Policy for Clever Sherpa, we will post those changes through a prominent notice on the web site so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and to whom we will disclose it.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of the Clever Sherpa business, or individual business units owned by Clever Sherpa, Inc., were to change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the service can continue operations. In any such transfer of information, your user information would remain subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy.
